WOOD TURNER

From his days as a Duke Blue Devil to now, Wood Turner hasn’t turned down the heat on his quest for climate change. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Wood went on to the University of Washington where he received a master’s degree in urban and environmental planning. Armed with new knowledge, he worked in public affairs and advocacy, developing Urban Ecology’s “Blueprint for a Sustainable Bay Area,” a leading-edge vision presenting actionable ways for non-activists to live with a purpose. He also developed an e-magazine that shed light on constructive innovations by businesses, organizations and individuals to international audiences.

Forging ahead, he became a senior account strategist and lead writer with a Seattle advertising and strategic communications agency, working on behalf of public and private sector clients including Flexcar and the Seattle Mayor’s Green Ribbon Commission on Climate Protection.

All that got Wood where he is today, project director of Climate Counts, a non-profit organization launched by organic yogurt pioneer, Stonyfield Farm, and featured Blogger on Together.com.
